​The thing you have with a doula is an advocate, a friend, a walking/talking birth geek and someone that feels as passionately about your experience as you do.   

We’ll have at least two antenatal meetings before hand to discuss your birth wishes and any worries. I then become someone who not only supports you, but can help to empower your & your partner to ask questions and push for your wishes to be adhered to - many say we act as the middle (wo)man between medical support and couples. We are not just for home births, or water births or even natural births. In fact I am happy to prepare you for and attend caesarean births, induced births and VBACs too...... whether you are high risk, low risk, planning a vaginal birth, vbac, caesarean.  

My goal is for you to have a positive birth experience as you define it.

PACKAGE ONE

Birth preparation sessions, mobile support, on call from 10 days before your EDD until your baby arrives, physical support in labour and two hours after birth helping with first feed, any admin and making sure you are all settled and comfortable.  A postnatal follow up with food, hugs and a birth debrief.

Birth preparation & postnatal planning sessions, a full hypnobirthing course over three evenings,  mobile support, on call from 10 days before your EDD until your baby arrives, physical support in labour and two hours after birth helping with first feed, clean up and making sure you are all settled and comfortable.  A postnatal follow up with food, hugs and a birth debrief.

Postnatal doula support, cooking, baby care, help with feeding, sleep and more broken into 4-5 sessions.

 I am devoted to proving that knowing what you want from your birth & having a doula does not make you a ‘hippy dippy’ or demanding, but actually an educated, knowledgeable woman.

​

I was inspired to become a doula after so many of my hypnobirthing couples asked me if I could attend the birth of their baby, and I wanted to be able to say YES! I've also trained to support families with loss & rainbow babies via the infant lost foundation.​

​

​

My experience is across births under both NHS & private caregivers throughout London & Surrey including The Portland, Lindo Wing & Kensington Wing. I’ve supported women to successfully have home births to planned caesareans, these mothers are from all walks of life including celebrities, journalists & influencers. I have been featured & recommended by many media outlets, including the Evening Standard.

My birth doula support is currently offered alongside my partner Zoe as a back up, this means you get the support & knowledge of two doulas throughout your pregnancy and a guarantee someone you know will be there for you in labour.

 

We know many tips & tricks that can help prepare you for & support you throughout your labour. From simple comfort measures & making sure you are eating/ drinking, to recommending & helping you into positions, timing contractions, calling the midwife to driving you to hospital. Most of all  women find that just having someone next to them who has seen it, been through it and understands how birth unfolds is so wonderfully reassuring.  Sadly in many circumstances continuity of care isn't available, this is what a doula can offer you.

The passion and love Jemma has for birth is evident from our first conversation,  She wasn't just supportive towards me, even my husband said he couldn't imagine doing it without her there either.

Jemma gave him the support that he needed to be there for me. Her reassuring present during my pregnancy and labour really was 'walking beside me' throughout the whole journey. Everyone needs a Jemma in their life!

As soon as James and I met Jemma we loved her and felt so much more at ease and confident about bringing our baby into the world. She completely changed our perspective on birth. We loved her straight taking but reassuring approach and enjoyed our private classes with her in the lead up to the birth. We also made the decision to have her there with us on the day. EXTRA INFO

Attendance to antenatal appointments and  extra preparations meetings can be added to packages if required at a cost of £110 per meeting

Postnatal Support discussed on client needs:

Example costs- 

20 hour bundle - £460

Overnight doula (8pm- 6.30am) fee  - £200

​

Postnatal visits can be  once a week or five times a week it depending on your needs.  Please note that care is for the mother and new baby, not childcare for older children. 

​

*Expenses incurred purchasing items for parents are not included in fees and will be billed after the postnatal visit
